My super freakin’ awesome Thursday
Days come and go and most of the time I have no clue if today is Wednesday or Saturday. I definitely know when it’s Sunday because that is the day that my cook doesn’t come to work. Today is Thursday. It doesn’t matter to me. The sun rises and sets and it’s a day.
What was so awesome?
I didn’t do anything especially different. I did what I do most Thursdays: yoga, lunch, bit of work (today I went swimming instead), dinner and nighttime.
But today was different.
I walked with a lightness and spark. I indulged in every experience I had, whether it was watching a bird or feeling the cool water of the pool. Every movement and sound my children made was music to my ears. Every step I took on the way to yoga was filled with contentment. I walked with a smile on my face the entire way. Seriously. And despite a physically intense yoga practice, I felt light as a feather. The day flowed with ease and enjoyment.
I was in nirvana.
The only nirvana I’ve known was a popular band during my college years, so I had to look up the actual definition.
- A transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the subject is released from the effects of karma and samsara. It represents the final goal of Buddhism
- Liberation of the soul from the effects of karma and from bodily existence
- A state of perfect happiness; an ideal or idyllic place
I don’t want to ruin the rhythm of this day, so I’ll just show you pictures.
I was grateful for all of this today…
- Breakfast with a blonde bombshell.
- I start my walk to yoga down my path, lined with concrete and stone
- Which opens up a just planted rice paddy
- Amazing free hand paintings. The artist is beautiful to watch and I don’t know how he gets the lines so straight.
- I live by the ulitmate health foodie hangout – Alchemy.
- My walk to yoga continues along a narrow walkway flanked by green covered concrete walls.
- A surprse awaits on the other side of every door in Ubud. You never know what it’s going to open up to.
- Notice the beauty of the stone statues at a home entry.
- Some concrete walls have beautiful reliefs carves into them.
- Lush, green walk to Intuitive Flow Yoga Sanctuary
- This is my favorite section of my walk. Sunshine, green and water.
- Banana trees and flowers. The island is filled with overflowing life.
- The turn that lets me know I’ve almost arrived.
- Water flows everywhere.
- I have arrived for 2 hours of serenity and strength.
- And let it begin…
- On the way back, the colors of this fabric catch my eye.
- The berries hanging off the walls were so vibrant.
- The rice is almost ready to be harvested.
- Mr. King, handsome while working. We have lots of great things to be grateful for in our lives.
- Swimming moments with G: “Mama, won’t you come in for a little bit longer?” He charms me.
- Charms me so much, we go out on a date together.
- To our favorite place to get homemade Indian Chai.
- With cups so big, G can fit his head in it! We had fun taking lots of pictures of each other.
- I’m married to an older man, but I like the young ones too!
- And we got creative too…shot from inside of a carved coconut candle holder.
- 4 & 2 in Special Agent Oso bliss.

I love this post! Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos. I can almost taste the chai… haha yeah right
Peace and Love on your travels!
I love days like what you described. When, for some seemingly magical reason, you just feel bliss and the ordinary becomes so special. I strive for those days and to be that person as much as possible. I wish you more such days.
Thanks Lee. I could have written so much more, but wanted to keep it short to enjoy the rest of the day.
It’s a testament to how much your mind really shapes your reality.
Love it! Great post. If only we could appreciate the small things that are wonderful about our life as much as we focus on our problems, we’d all live happier

Thank you for this post Sabina! You are an inspiration to me in so many ways, and always help remind me to live in the moment, simply because you do it so well.
Life is to be enjoyed.
So glad it was an awesome day! Sometimes the Universe is just fantastic!
